, cooler than what i just -- colder than what i just showed you. 43, santa rosa. 41, napa. upper 30s at novato, fairfield, concord, and livermore so you know it's going to be cold in those locations overnight. and now a beautiful view of a clear sky over the bay bridge from our exploratorium camera. these are our forecast features. a freeze warning in effect, "spare the air" alert for tomorrow, that's the second consecutive day. we had one today as well. and chilly days ahead. chilly afternoons on monday and tuesday, before we start to get a break in the cold snap. here's the pacific satellite image. you can see the movement of weather systems today. cold front moved south of us. the cold air continues to spill behind the clouds, moving into southern california, and clear skies in the bay area. so at 7:00 this evening, you won't see much happen overnight in terms of sky conditions. it will remain clear but temperatures will drop and they won't rise much tomorrow. so it's going to be another chilly day. overnight tonight look for low temperatures dropping to 21 at napa. 23 at santa ro

that sonoma county deputy mistook for a real one. the santa rosa county democrat said one possible healing action that supervisors may take on tuesday is to create a park baring lopez's name in the neighborhood where he grew up and died. >>> new at 5:00, a man was arrested on the puget sound today after authorities say he stole a ferry. seattle police say the man stole a victoria clipper high speed ferry this morning that traveled between the port of seattle and vancouver british columbia. he locked himself in the pilot house and left the boat drift about 300 yards into elegant bay. police boarded the ferry and arrested the man on grand theft and piracy charges. they are still trying to figure out exactly how he managed to take the ferry in the first place. authorities are advising residents about a mountain lion sighting this morning. the cat was spotted near razorback ridge trail in woodside. that's in the windy hills preserve. residents are being warned not to approach the animals if they see them. those who respond to those sightings, we all need to think twice before they act. a new l

into saturday. so if you're traveling count on major delays. 45 santa rosa. 41 novato. 46 in livermore. chill with us. kgo roof camera, winds not existent. record cold, rain, snow here. locally in the bay area, friday into saturday morning it's going to be chilly for the weekend. looking at temperatures you'll see where coldest spots will be. 20 in napa. 25 santa rosa. san jose, fremont, 30 degrees. 25 livermore, fairfield. you get the drift here. tomorrow morning, you'll need to bundle up. scarfs, gloves make sure kids are wrapped up nicely. it's going to be frigid again. cold air mass with us. not going away soon. another shot of cold air coming in with this system. it will bring us rain here, you'll see when tomorrow evening, at 5:00 still around santa rosa north. then spreads by 9:00 p.m rain across the bay area. rain-snow mix over mount hamilton. then, at midnight you might hear pitter patter of rain drops. saturday morning, still looking at a wintery mix. then, clearing out quickly. and going to see snow. santa cruz mountains and hills, expecting a couple inches of snow winter storm war

it will be in the afternoon. santa rosa, 59. fairfield same thing. napa, 57. your time to get up to head to the sierra would be really to wait up thursda until thursday. that's when you'll have dry weather. slight chance of showers in the bay area tonight. colder pattern for the rest of the week and we're looking at a freeze watch to begin tuesday night. it will run right on through thursday morning. here's what is bringing the freezing cold conditions. it's a cold front up to the north. that is going to work its way southward. maybe an isolated light shower, but really that's not the what i'm concerned about. i'm concerned about the much colder air behind the front. here is a look at the computer animation. isolated shower hit or miss. once we start to see the clearing behind the front, the cold area will settle in, it could be the coldest of the season. and as you take a look at the temperature trend for santa rosa, pretty much spells out who will be hit by the freeze first. 29 wednesday morning. thursday, 24 degrees. temperatures will start to come up friday, saturday. tomorrow morning, not concerned abo
